Games Convention Asia 2008 photo report

Games Convention Asia 2008 has just concluded today after a 3-day run at Suntec Convention Center.
What I found strange was the requirement to register before you could even go in. The entrance staff were pretty strict about this.. and to register you have to provide some personal info like email address and phone number. The whole thing smelled like information harvesting to me, but oh well.. it could’ve also served as crowd control because many people were put off by it and went somewhere else instead. But anyway everyone who registered got some stuff, like a pre-order pack for Richard Garriot’s Tabula Rasa game.
Major exhibitors there were Cherry Credits, Electronic Arts, and Nintendo, as well as a number of smaller setups. I’d say Electronic Arts had the largest display, and here’re some of the titles they were demo-ing: FIFA 09, NBA LIVE 09, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, FaceBreaker, The Sims2 Apartment Life, EA SPORTS FIFA Online2, NBA Street Online, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Command and Conquer, Red Alert 3, Dead Space, Need for Speed: Undercover, Rockband, Hasbro?s Littlest Pet Shop, Monopoly, Nerf N-Strike, and SPORE.
I’m pretty much out of gaming, but I was enthralled by the incredible opening trailer for Warhammer Online, which has just been released. I wonder if a 40k version is on its way.
Of course, which gaming convention is complete these days without cosplay characters? And so, here’s the usual photo report.

Cherry Credits’ lineup of titles

In the year 2008 kill simulators like Black Shot are very popular.

Fate/Stay night characters

My favorite cosplayer of the day

Someone you don’t want crawling across your floor at night.

oh! I didn’t learn of this convention until much later.
How long has the convention been going on?
