The "Christian Lacroix - the Costumier" exhibition, on display outside France for the first time and now running in Singapore, has brought more than 80 costumes to the National Museum of Singapore until 14 June 2009.
Much of the collection on display includes those made for plays and operas such Othello. DeviantART is a great source for great alternative art, but did you know Japan has its own online art community there? Audrey Kawasaki is an artist whose work is both attractive and yet disturbing. Much of her work appears to be influenced by the gaunt and peaceful appearance of Japanese ball-jointed dolls, and she makes use of wood panels as a canvas to paint on.

The Doll Affair is a yearly event focusing on ball-jointed dolls, that is already in its second run owing to great response last year. These dolls are almost like works of fine art with their attention to detail and posability, and many artists use these too when developing media such as photos.
